I’m going to show you how to make Katsudon. It’s a complete Japanese meal served as a large bowl of rice, topped with tonkatsu breaded pork, egg, and sauce. Bon appétit !
👩🍳 Ingredients for 4 servings:
1 lb short grain rice
4 pork chops
10 eggs
all-purpose flour
5 oz panko or regular breadcrumbs
salt
pepper
1 spring onion
1 small onion
frying oil
Katsudon sauce:
one piece of kombu seaweed (3” x 5”)
0.25 oz bonito flakes (katsuobushi)
⅓ cup light soy sauce
⅓ cup mirin
2 tbsp cooking sake
1 cup + ¼ cup water
