How Gut Health Impacts Your Vision And Eye Health
Date: 2025-04-23 17:05:07
There’s a lot of growing research about the gut microbiome and how it may influence overall health—including the eyes. Some studies suggest that a healthier gut is linked to a lower risk of certain eye conditions, such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and dry eye disease.
However, at this time, there are no strong clinical studies showing that taking a probiotic supplement directly improves these conditions.
What does seem to help? Supporting your gut health with a wide variety of fiber-rich, prebiotic foods—like fruits and vegetables. A more diverse and robust gut microbiome is associated with better overall health and potentially healthier eyes too.
If you’re curious about what the science actually says and how gut health might relate to your eyes, be sure to check out the full video on the channel.
