Students Discover Where Milk Comes From at Beretta Dairy

Students, families and educators from Hidden Valley Elementary visited Beretta Dairy in Sonoma County to learn firsthand how milk is produced and how dairy farmers care for their animals, their communities and the environment.
Hosted through a Let’s Eat Healthy Community Grant, the tour provided an opportunity to build food and agricultural literacy by helping participants better understand where their food comes from and the important role dairy farms play in supporting healthy communities.
Throughout the day, attendees explored the dairy, connected with local agriculture and learned about the people behind the food they enjoy every day.
As dairy farmer Jennifer Beretta shared, helping the next generation understand agriculture creates lasting connections that extend far beyond the farm — empowering students and families to make informed decisions about the foods they choose.
