On January 11, 1878, milk was first delivered in sterilized glass bottles—a breakthrough that transformed food safety and helped protect public health. This innovation set the stage for milk to become one of the safest, most trusted foods in our diets.

Today, milk continues to be a nutrient-rich, accessible and affordable food that supports health for people of all ages.
