Why you can’t see clearly at the end of the day

@ElyseMeyers recently shared a video about experiencing blurry vision at the end of the day. It brings up a great question: why might someone’s vision get blurrier as the day goes on? π
There are many possible causes, but two that eye doctors may consider are dry eye and farsightedness.
With dry eye, the tear film on the surface of the eye can become less stable as the day goes on. Since the tear film helps create a smooth, clear surface for vision, this can sometimes cause vision to become blurry or fluctuate.
People who are farsighted may also compensate by working their focusing system harder throughout the day. As the eyes get tired, maintaining that clear focus can become more difficult.
Of course, everyone’s eyes are different, and a video can’t tell us what’s causing one person’s symptoms. But if you’re experiencing ongoing blurry vision, even if you’ve previously been told everything looks fine, it’s always okay to see another eye doctor for a second opinion.
